Our 
Story

Michelle is an Occupational Therapist who graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters of Occupational Therapy practice in 2014. Drawing on over 10 years of clinical practice, she has worked extensively in inpatient rehabilitation and ensured patients’ successful discharges home.

 

Michelle has worked in community practice and in home rehabilitation. She has extensive experience in working with many client age groups ranging from orthopaedic injury, post neurological events, dementia, respiratory diseases and other chronic illnesses.

 

Michelle genuinely cares for her clients' well-being. She enjoys collaborating with them to build their capacity to live rich and independent lives at home and stay engaged in the community.

Specialised OT Retraining Sessions

  • Personal care retraining

  • Domestic activities retraining

  • Increasing independence in the community i.e. shopping

  • Functional and home safety assessments

  • Cognitive retraining and memory supports

  • Falls prevention and fatigue management

  • Appropriate and cost effective assistive equipment recommendations

  • Minor/major home modification reports

  • Goal setting and retraining interventions

  • Liaising with treating physicians to help clients build confidence with oxygen use at home.

  • Support At Home (previously Home Care Package)

  • NDIS (self-managed only, as per NDIS guidelines)

Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Initial Assessment includes:
 

  • Comprehensive report

  • Assessment of home environment and
    current level of function

  • Treatment plan

  • Diagrams for home modifications and organising quote with builder

  • Equipment prescription

  • Goal setting

  • Liaising with care team

  • Travel

Specialised OT Services

Support At Home / Private: $120 per hour
NDIS: As per guidelines

In-home specialised retraining sessions to increase safety and independence with daily activities.

  • Transitioning home post hospital stay

  • Personal care retraining

  • Domestic activities retraining i.e. managing cooking, laundry

  • Increase independence in the community i.e. shopping

  • Cognitive retraining and memory supports

  • Falls prevention and fatigue management

  • Goal setting and retraining interventions

  • Dementia management within the home

  • Liaising with treating physicians to help clients build confidence with oxygen use at home.
